Should you pay to launch, or start free?

Compare free listings with paid launches and choose what suits your shop best.

Updated

When you open a shop on Tavero Launch, you can start with a free listing or go straight to a paid launch. Here's what each one gives you.

Get going for free

A free listing gets your profile up quickly. You'll see the basics: your name, what you do, and how to reach you. Some of the richer sections—your founder story, milestones, screenshots, video and how you compare to others—stay locked until you upgrade.

We ask you to show our badge on your website before we publish your listing. Once live, you'll sit in our free queue, which means you'll go live about 6-8 weeks out. Your link to your website will be nofollow, so search engines won't follow it through to you.

Pay to launch now

A paid launch at $5 gets you live straight away, or on any week you choose. No badge needed. Your full profile opens up—all your sections visible. Your link becomes dofollow, which means search engines can find and index your pages.

Grow from here

Once you've launched for free, you can upgrade to a paid launch whenever you're ready, right from /account/listings. If you go paid from the start, you can add extras: get featured placement ($19), add more categories, or bundle things together. Free listings can skip the free queue for $9 and launch in a week they choose; a paid launch chooses its week at no extra cost.

Questions people ask

Can I upgrade from free to paid later?
Yes. From /account/listings, you can upgrade your free listing to a paid launch at any time.
What's the difference in how many people see me?
Free listings go live after about 6-8 weeks and have nofollow links, so search engines don't index them. Paid launches go live now (or when you pick), with dofollow links that help search engines find you.
Do I need to put a badge on my website?
Only if you start with a free listing. If you pay to launch at $5, no badge is required.
